For Children

Thompson Public Library hopes to serve all parts of our community.  In doing that we offer several programs for children that include:

Lego Builders: for K-prep through 6th graders.  This group meets on Wednesday afternoons through out the school year from about 2:30 to 4:30.  The bus from North Iowa Community Schools can drop children off if parents ask the school to do so.  We provide a snack first and then have building challenges.  This group generally meets every other week.

PopCorn and a Movie:  On Wednesday's when Lego Builders don't meet we may offer a free children's movie and a bag (or 2) of popcorn for children of all ages.  This happens once a month.

Crafternoons:  Also on Wednesday afternoons when Lego Builders don't meet we may offer a crafternoon for children of all ages.  We would do a snack and then do a seasonal craft.  This can also happen on Saturday mornings.

STEM:  Once a month we team with Winnebago county Extension to provide a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) activity after a snack.  This happens on the same time frame as Lego Builders.

All of these activities are scheduled on our monthly activity calendar and begin when the kids get here from school, about 2:30.

Contact the Library for more information on any of these activities.
